They ...thanks Dave - let me know how they turn out! They do work well with a BBQ as they offer a nice contrast to the (meaty) main course!! And it's finger food too, which is what a BBQ should all be about.Leighhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05512660051158275112noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38739054.post-69548093928289608952008-06-06T20:09:00.000+01:002008-06-06T20:09:00.000+01:00Those pork pinwheels look awesome. I've saved out the recipe and I'm going to make them for starters at my next barbecue.

I don't think I'd bake the log prior to slicing, either. I can imagine that the baked log would make for somewhat messy slicing (not so much if they were made with bread rather than pastry however.)Davehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17866627809585257034noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38739054.post-54862604325227035262008-06-02T18:09:00.000+01:002008-06-02T18:09:00.000+01:00Hi nick, glad to meet ya. Also, I would imagine that if you didnt cut the log until after cooking, the tops/bottoms would not glaze and crisp up, so the texture would be very different. I've never not done it like that!as for accompaniement, they are savoury enough as a nibble on thier own, but if you want to dunk, i would go for something sweet, hot and chunky such as a chilli chutney.Leighhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05512660051158275112noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38739054.post-42139769267645066972008-06-02T09:50:00.000+01:002008-06-02T09:50:00.000+01:00I like pork. Instinctually I would put the whole log in and cut afterwards. Do they fall apart that way?

Good recipe, simple and clean. Easy to pull off.

What do you serve them with? Ketchup, tomato sauce, chicken liver mousse?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38739054.post-91664389351143051702008-05-21T19:47:00.000+01:002008-05-21T19:47:00.000+01:00Guys - you're all welcome!Guys - you're all welcome!Leighhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05512660051158275112noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38739054.post-63170393455425244902008-05-20T20:50:00.000+01:002008-05-20T20:50:00.000+01:00Talk about rich and comforting fare!
