Leeds Brewery...Coming Along Nicely

I was pleased to hear this week that those enterprising young chaps at Leeds Brewery are setting up their own pub. Tentativley named The Midnight Bell, the pub will be situated not too far from thier brewhouse in Leeds, and building work will start soon.
As you know, Leeds Brewery have the full backing of TGS; not least in thier recent success but also due to the fact that these lads are truly passionate about beer and this latest step is certainly 'one in the eye' for those who think that the 'pub' is dead.
The Good Stuff, along with many other Yorkshire-based beer and food blogs, will be there on opening day for certain. Good Luck.
....and on other TGS - endorsed news, The Fox & Newt are currently selling their own-brewed ales at £2 a pint. Make sure you don't miss out - thier brewhouse is producing some excellent beers right now.

I think that there should be more brewpubs. In my opinion they're the way forward for a micro as they'll allow them to cut out the middle men (and the associated transport costs) and guarantee an outlet for their products.

yeah - not only that, the beer on offer can be outstanding. I would hope that the brewpub 'comes back' into fashion much in the same way farner's markets have - people are increasingly more aware of where thier food comes from, and making choices based on ethics, provenance and quality - and finding thr rewards in taste are outstanding. Maybe Beer could be next for a more...measured approac h from your general consumer.

Since Leeds' beers started cropping up all over the city, we've been consistently impressed by the standards of these guys' ales. They seem to have everything right - the identity of the brewery is classy yet approachable and the passion really comes through in the ales. I'd not heard of their plans for a pub - it's an excellent idea. Best of luck and yes, we'll be there on opening night! :-)

It could be the circles I move in Leigh but most folk I know already appreciate the extra time, effort and care put into a pint of proper ale.

Now all I have to do is convince them to grow their own which may well end up being a hard task to accomplish!
